Yamaha YHR-871 French Horn
This Yamaha double features a Balu Leadpipe for great upper range and slotted notes. We installed our custom leadpipe after testing several different tapers and found the one that comes with the horn. This horn is available with its original Yamaha leadpipe as well. A video will follow soon to show the distinction between the two leadpipes, and why we chose to install a custom one on it. This horn comes with a Yamaha original case. This Yamaha is like new, a 9.9/10 cosmetically. We ultrasonic clean all the horns before shipping out even if they were previously cleaned.
Blending a Geyer-style wrap with a medium bell, the Yamaha 871 delivers a rich, focused tone ideal for both solo and ensemble settings. Weighing in at 5.42 lbs, the 871 is comfortably balanced for long rehearsals and performances. The compact wrap improves weight distribution, while the 14.25-inch leadpipe-to-bell spacing supports a relaxed, natural posture. Customizable features like the adjustable thumb lever and pinky hook ensure a personalized fit for any hand size or grip style.
