Collection and Use of Information

We will only collect information from you when you register on our site and/or place an order. When placing an order on our site, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, or credit card information. We use this information to personalize your experience and help process transactions. Your information, public or private, will not be given or sold to any other company or individual for any reason whatsoever, without your consent. Information will only be used for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested. 

Protection of Information

We implement a number of security measures to  ensure and maintain the safety and security of any personal information you may provide us when placing an order or registering with our site. We use a secure server, and all provided information is transmitted via SSL technology. Any information is encrypted through payment gateway providers’ databases, and is inaccessible to anyone that is not authorized with special access rights to these systems. All payment gateway providers are required to keep all information confidential. Your private information, including payment information, credit cards, personal information, etc., is not stored on our servers. uses cookies, which are small files within a site that are transferred to your computer’s hard drive via your web browser, if allowed, enabling the site or service provider’s systems to recognize your computer’s browser so that certain information can be remembered and used. Balu Musik uses cookies to help understand and use your preferences for any future visits to the site. 

Balu Musik will not sell, trade, or transfer personally identifiable information in any way to any outside parties. However, as long as complete confidentiality is understood, any third parties who assist in operating, conducting our business, or providing services to you are not included. In addition, we reserve the right to release any information when appropriate to comply with the law, to enforce site policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of ourselves or others. Lastly, by agreeing to our privacy policy, you are agreeing to allowing use of your non-personally identifiable visitor information for marketing, advertising, etc.

While we have a clear return policy, we are known to be flexible and accommodating with our customers when needed.


For new and used horns, the trial period is seven days upon receipt of the instrument. All shipping charges to and from the customer are to be paid for by the customer. From time to time, we may have special items on sale, for which we will also offer free shipping, which will be clearly listed on our site. Instructions on how to properly pack and ship a horn can be found here. Any failure to properly pack and ship a horn can result in damage to the instrument, and therefore additional repair charges. Furthermore, any instrument that is purchased and then modified or customized per the owner’s desires is no longer eligible for a 7-10-day trial period; thus, any and all modifications render the instrument a final sale with no returns.

Balu Mouthpieces

When purchasing a brand-new Balu Mouthpiece, the trial period is 10 days upon receipt of the item. If a mouthpiece return occurs, return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. In addition, the buyer will incur a $20 restocking fee. This is due to the fact that any returned mouthpieces are no longer considered brand-new, and must be sold later as used. Returned mouthpieces will undoubtedly have a permanent ring on the stem from insertion into the lead pipe, making the cosmetic condition less than perfect. However, customers have the option to purchase a store-display mouthpiece at a discounted rate, which will not result in a restocking fee if returned.

Balu Mutes

When purchasing a Balu Mute, the trial period is 15 days upon receipt of the item. If a mute return occurs, return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. We offer full refund (minus the return shipping) as long as the mute is in the same condition as it was purchased in.


When purchasing a brand-new horn case (Marcus Bonna or Fusion) from Balu Musik, the trial period is 15 days upon receipt of the item. If a case return occurs, return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. In addition, the buyer will incur a $50 restocking fee. This is due to the fact that any returned cases are no longer considered brand-new, and must be sold later as used. Returned cases will undoubtedly have spots due to oil, and wear and tear from general use and transportation of instruments.

Balu Musik uses PayPal and Square as our main payment processing services. These processing services are the ones that process all financial information, therefore we do not have access to your personal credit/debit card information, nor is the information stored in our database. 

We ship items, if in stock, twice per week on days that the post office is open. Please understand that for items such as our famous mutes, which have been in high demand since the beginning, sometimes more time is required. You may elect to have a complete refund if the item desired is out of stock or unavailable. 

All mutes, mouthpieces, and accessories are shipped with USPS Priority Mail, while our horns, cases, and other large items are shipped with FedEx Ground. In case you have an emergency and need an item shipped fast, we can accommodate you, but please first call or e-mail us at [email protected].

USPS Priority Mail delivers within 1-3 business days anywhere within the continental US, while FedEx Ground delivers within 1-5 business days within the continental US, depending on your location. We do not ship on federal holidays or on Sundays.

Balu Musik is now offering consignment options for sellers interested in selling their instruments. Our reputation, as well as our ever-growing social media and online presence, gives a potential consignor a considerable advantage when choosing to use Balu Musik to sell on consignment. We will do all the work; you do not have to worry about anything. 

If any repair to consignment instruments is necessary we will contact the consignor with any fees this may incur. We will thoroughly oil, grease, and maintain instruments (i.e. change rotor strings as needed, replace bumpers, etc.), and will take professional photographs to ensure that your horn looks its very best when posted on our web store. There is a possibility of your horn joining us for any trade shows and exhibits that we believe it could sell in. Please allow up to 3 weeks for us to complete all of our maintenance and marketing/processing steps. 

Balu Musik charges a 15% consignment fee. Consignment period is generally 12 or more months.

The consignor reserves the right to cease consignment of the instrument at any time, at their own discretion. If your consignment instrument has not sold within 12 months, Balu Musik will contact you and verify whether you would like to terminate or renew the consignment, or create new agreement terms. The consignor is responsible for all shipping to and from. 

The consignor agrees not to hold Balu Musik, LLC. or any affiliates liable for loss in case of loss in transit, or natural disaster. Balu Musik reserves the right to accept or deny any consignment instruments. 

The Consignee, Balu Musik, agrees:

  • to maintain and take full responsibility of a consignment instrument while in our possession, and to make certain the instrument is sold in a legal manner; 
  • to thoroughly inspect and report any defects or needed repairs which were not previously identified to the consignor, either verbally or in writing;
  • to make all diligent efforts to sell the consignment instrument;
  • to make all necessary shipping, handling, and maintenance arrangements that will help the sale of the consignment instrument to a prospective buyer;
  • to return the consignment instrument to the consignor upon termination of consignment, notwithstanding any pending or final sale to a prospective buyer; 
  • to pay the consignor the agreed-upon amount after satisfaction of any fees due consignee under this agreement (15% of final selling price or $200, whichever is greater), after completion of sale.
